New pattern - ORLA sweater

It's pattern release day!

ORLA sweater is now available on Ravelry

ORLA is a top-down yoke sweater. Get inspired by the deliciously textured yoke and oh-so-cozy garter stitch.  Get captivated by elongated stitches, cables without the need for a cable needle and bobbles that are worked on the right side only.

This design is worked seamlessly in the round and uses DK weight yarn for extra comfort.
The pattern offers 7 sizes, ranging from 85-145cm/34-58inches bust, including 10-15cm/ 4-6 inches of positive ease for a feel good fit.

My inspiration for this design is the seasonal change from summer to fall. The ornaments remind me of trees that have lost some of their leaves but are still standing strong with their crowns. The arrow-like textures are inspired by the wind that’s blowing away the leaves, and you can see them whirling around in the air.
But at the same time there is harmony and quiet, represented by the arrows showing in the same direction and earths peace in the striped section in the middle.

New Pattern - SOLROS sweater

My new pattern Solros sweater is now available in my Ravelry Store!

Solros is a seamles top-down sweater with a beautiful textured yoke.
The design comes in 7 sizes ranging from 80-140cm / 32-56 inches bust circumference and uses fingering weight yarn to give you the perfect all year round favorite sweater. The pattern also has options to work either half sleeves or full length sleeves. For the perfect finish there are two video quick guides available as well on how to work the italian tublular cast on and the tubular bind off which are also explained in the pattern.

Solros means sunflower which has been my inspiration for this design. I find sunflowers with their big flower heads just so beautiful. To me they are the essence of summer, the sun, of warmth and being happy and in a good mood. The texture around the yoke reminds me of the round textures of the sunflower seeds. The stockinette stitch in the sweater design creates the same stillness as the flower petals around the sunflower head. Together it brings a wonderful harmony.

Who doesn't love a good yoke sweater? They are one of my favorite things to knit. What makes this one special is the eye catching textured yoke with its intriguing stitch combinations which ware actually not too hard to knit. Solros' classic element of stockinette body makes it easy to style as well.

With sweater weather already here and Christmas just around the corner it's the perfect time to start this addictive knit.

>> Don't miss out on the release discount and get 20% off the pattern using code SOLROS in my Ravelry store. (valid through Sunday, November 20 2022)

Please use #SlorosSweater and don't be shy to tag me @thedrizzleofhoney on Instagram when sharing your project so I and everyone else can find it easily to share the joy.

Discover the pattern and add it to your library here!

I hope you'll love the sweater as much as I do!

Love,

Stefanie

WIP Wednesday: Summer knitting 2016

It's been a while since my last post, I know... But it's summer and I'm rather sitting outside somewhere in the shadow and knit and relax instead of sitting in front of the computer.

So, let me show you what I've been up to these days! :)

WIP-Wednesday: Cabled Sweater - Sleeves

The sun is out a little bit more often now! So, I could take the first pictures outside :)
I finished the neck and the sleeves of the cabled sweater that I am doing. In this post I want to give you the instructions for that (or rather the changes I've made for the finer yarn that I am using).

Vintersol - Sweater for my man :)

It's been a while... the new year has come. First, I want to wish you all a happy and healthy 2015!! :) I hope you had some quiet time over the holidays, a nice New Year's Eve of course, as well as a lovely start with this first week in january.

The days were busy before Christmas, a lot had to be prepared and organized and I also knitted some gifts for loved ones that I want to show you in the upcoming posts. Because, finally, I CAN show them to you! :) (it wouldn't have been a surprise if I had put them up on the blog before...)

I want to start with my favorite one and also my biggest Christmas project: the Vintersol Men Sweater! :)

Christmas Present WIP - Joining a Sweater for Raglan Shaping

My sweater project can see the finish line by now! :)
In this post I want to show you how you are putting the three parts (body and sleeves) onto one circular needle. This can be a bit confusing, and so I want to explain to you what you should look out for.
